VIEWS: times Release Date:2021-03-18

Strawberry loves fertilizer, it is more important to apply fertilizer properly during the growth process. Strawberry loves fertilizer but can not fertilize too much, because strawberry has a shallow root system and too much fertilizer can easily cause fertilizer damage.

What role do potash, phosphate, and calcium fertilizers play in each growth stage of strawberries?

1, The characteristics of the fertilizer requirements of strawberries

Strawberry has a large demand for large and medium trace elements. Among them, the demand for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium is particularly strong. Strawberry enters the peak period of fertilizer demand from the growth period to the fruit expansion period. If there is a lack of fertilizer, it is easy to cause growth difficulties.

2. Fertilization period

Base fertilizer: Organic fertilizers are generally used together with chemical fertilizers such as compound fertilizers. Generally, 3-4 tons per acre of decomposed farmyard fertilizers and 30-40 kg of balanced compound fertilizers are used.

Planting: After the strawberry is planted, humic acid rooting agents can be used, which is beneficial to slow the seedling and promote the root, and can effectively promote the growth of the strawberry.

Flowering period: Before flowering, control the nitrogen fertilizer, and appropriately apply phosphorus, potassium, and calcium, magnesium, zinc, and boron fertilizers to promote flower bud differentiation. Appropriate supplementation of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium during the flowering period, and nitrogen fertilizer should also be supplemented appropriately to reduce premature aging of strawberries.

Fruit period: Strawberry fruit period is mainly supplemented with potassium fertilizer and calcium, magnesium and zinc fertilizer. If the strawberry is not growing well, you can spray humic acid for 1-2 times to promote root maintenance and reduce premature aging of strawberry, especially some Strawberries with yellowed leaves need to be repaired in time.

3. Foliar spraying fertilizer

According to our experience, we must pay attention to the concentration. If the concentration is too high, it will cause fertilizer damage. Generally, foliar spraying with foliar fertilizer can be sprayed with boron and zinc before flowering, which is conducive to the flowering and fruiting of strawberries. Foliar fertilizer is recommended to be sprayed 1000 times with water to promote swelling, color and sweeten, and prolong the harvest period.
